The Samurai are the faction that I personally like the best.
These people come from a land, far to the East and they tell a tale of a homeland
and an Emperor that were lost to sea and fire during the last great cataclysm.
Now, more than a millennia later the nomadic warriors roam no more and have
rebuilt themselves in a new land with a new Emperor.
After having been driven from their ancestral homes
and rebuilding their forces,
though strong and mighty,
the Samurai still find themselves vastly outnumbered
by their new neighbors.
Because of this, they know that only through
greater
cunning, skill and
loyalty to each other
will their people have a chance to
thrive.
They may very well be the last of their kind.
Each faction has 4 different playable characters.
The Kensei who are a balanced character and good for beginners. He has reasonable stamina, strength, speed, and armor.
Then there is the Shugoki. He is a heavy character. He has a lot of armor and he is slow so his attacks are pretty slow but his strength makes up for it. Even though he is slow if his attack hits it will do some serious damage.
Next we have my personal favorite the Orochi. This badass is known as an assassin amongst the samurai. He is very nimble and has a very strong attack. He is one of the fastest characters but he is hard to learn to play with and had low defense so this is not a character for everyone but if you do learn to use him others will need to watch out
Finally for the Samurai is the Nobushi. The Nobushi has a long Naginata (long stick with a blade on the top) giving her the most reach out of any character making her harder to get close to and hitting and her blade is poisoned so it slowly kills you. She is fast but has low health at the moment she is somewhat OP but Ubisoft will probaly nerf her in the future.
Those left behind were conquered by the Knights and assimilated into their cultures.
The Vikings returned in great numbers a few centuries ago.
They came from far across the sea to where they have established a new homeland.
They retuned for many reasons, but mostly to reclaim their ancient homeland in the North: Valkeinheim.
Hundreds of Viking clans now coexist in relative peace in the frozen tundra.
To the outside observer, however, they seem to exist in a state of perpetual civil war.
Vikings are the undisputed masters of the sea and fresh water.
When this raucous nation gathers together in massive armadas of dragon-headed ships, they are fearsome to behold and nigh unstoppable.
The Raider is a good starter if you are just joining the world of For Honor and you choose the Viking faction. He has a strong attack but the rest of his stats are ok.
The Berserkers are fast hard hitters. She wields dual small axes and can dish out some deadly combos that are hard to get out of if you let them start hitting you but she has a low defense.
The Warlord Slow and strong, Warlords are great counter attackers who hit hard and sustain a lot of damage. Their attacks have limited range but they offer defensive properties that make them perfect tools to counter incoming attacks or trade blows with the enemy and they are able to daze you with a knee to the head.
Finally for the Vikings is the Valkyrie. She is a warrior chosen by the gods. She is fast and has a long spear so that she doesn’t have to get in close to enemies. Her spear does a good amount of damage but she has a low defense.
Now for the final faction, the Knights.
It is their belief that many, if not all of the ancient ruins were built by their ancestors.
The Knights had been scattered for centuries but have begun to reunite under a single banner, that of the Iron Legion.
There are those still, however, who choose to gather their own "Legion", and their alliance with the Iron Legion is shaky at best.
To start off the knights we have the Warden. Wardens are jack-of-all-trade knights who roam the battlefield with their impressive longswords. They balance defense and offense and are easy to play. They make great choices for new players as they feature a large range of basic abilities.
Next we have the Conquerors. They are heavily armored fighters armed with massive flails. They destabilize and overcome opponents through multiple defensive abilities and infinite attacks.
The Peacekeeper are fast, maneuverable, and deadly. They use their dagger to inflict Bleed Damage to their opponents. Their limited range is compensated by high mobility to counter enemies or back away to safety.
And finally for the knights (and this whole list) is the Lawbringer. The Lawbringer combines the features of a Heavy and a Vanguard Hero. Strong but extremely effective at counter-attacking.
Well that’s all there is for characters in For Honor, at least for the moment, there have been rumors that the season pass will be granting access to more characters for each faction the future. Now to show you what there is for game modes in the game.
For Honor has much to offer in terms of gameplay. There is character customization including changing your clothes and upgrading your gear to fit your playing style, faction wars to see how the community is dominating certain land, and the game modes the game has to offer.
The Game offers several game modes which I will be listing
For Honor has multiple maps which every mode will come across including the Knights maps: Citadel Gate and Cathedral,
Samurai Maps: Overwatch and Forest,
and the Vikings maps: River Fort and Canyon. One of the modes which will be going through all of these maps is the Campaign or the story of For Honor.
Playable as single-player and two-player co-op, the For Honor story mode is an immersive tale of larger-than-life warriors plunged into one of the bloodiest wars between Knights, Vikings, and Samurai in recent history.
Hundreds of years after a cataclysm reshaped the world, Knights, Vikings, and Samurai have adapted and thrive once more. Each now has the power to defy the other factions, tipping a fragile equilibrium into all-out war.
Embodying the greatest warriors of each faction, players experience some of the defining moments that led to the war. Dealing with manipulation, betrayal, and catastrophic reversal, they will need wits and skills to ensure victory.
Storming castles and fortresses, turning the tide of key battles, and defeating deadly bosses in intense duels, players will incarnate as battle-hardened heroes who will shape the course of a violent history.
In this 4v4 battle you must break the opposing team’s morale and then eliminate them. You do so by scoring points through killing enemies, capturing specific areas, and controlling them over time.
Once a team reaches 1000 points, the opposite teams breaks and can no longer spawn unless they kill opponents or recapture areas. A team wins by killing the last hero of a breaking team (btw this mode so far gets you the most experience).
Battle it out against a single opponent in a best of five-round fight in an arena! Use your mastery of your hero’s move set to slay your opponent. You must do so without feats or radar to pinpoint your opponent’s position.
Be on the lookout, and tap into your skills!
This is a 2v2, best-of-five rounds battle to the death. Each hero spawns at a different point of the map. A team wins a battle when they’ve eliminated the last hero of the opposing team. There are no respawns.
Battle arenas are filled with traps and ledges, so exploit your environment to your advantage!
Elimination is a best of five rounds 4v4 mode. There is no respawn and the player who is the last to survive on the battlefield wins the round for their team.
It’s a mode full of tension where every fight matters – will you confront your direct opponent or coordinate with your team to storm together one enemy after the other?
Alright that’s all we got on For Honor for you today so we hope to see you on the battlefields when the game comes out.
FOR HONOR!
